Zev is Volunteering for the MDA
I will be drawing at the Muscular Dystrophy Association's "Lock-Up. "
Check out the press release below.
Performance Time: 10:00 am to 1:00 am Event Location: Simon Pearce Restaurant Event Address: 1333 Lenape Road/Route 52
West Chester, PA 19382
[West Chester, PA - September 19, 2008] West Chester’s business and community leaders are being accused of “having a big heart for Jerry’s Kids.” They’re volunteering to be “arrested and serve time” in a mock jail on Tuesday, September 23, 2008, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, at the Simon Pearce Restaurant located at 1333 Lenape Road, West Chester, PA in an effort to raise money for the local Muscular Dystrophy Association.
At the West Chester Lock-Up, an “honorary judge” will sentence each participant to “raise bail” by calling friends and encouraging contributions to advance MDA’s lifesaving programs. Local businesses are supporting the community event, with “jailbird” mug shots and caricature pictures provided by Zev Pictures; “jailhouse” food provided by Simon Pearce; and Wells Fargo volunteers will serve as arresting officers. More than 100 West Chester area executives and civic leaders are expected to serve their sentences “behind bars” for MDA including WCOJ Radio Hosts J.T. Morgan, PJ Mullen, and Robert Henson.
MDA is a voluntary health agency working to defeat neuromuscular diseases through worldwide research, comprehensive services, and far-reaching professional and public health education. In addition to funding ground-breaking research, MDA maintains some 230 clinics nationwide, including 6 local clinics, local support groups, and a summer camp for kids with muscle-wasting diseases. MDA is the first nonprofit organization recognized by the American Medical Association with a Lifetime Achievement Award “for significant and lasting contributions to the health and welfare of humanity.”
Simon Pearce designs, manufactures and markets original products in hand blown glass and handmade pottery and operates a fine dining establishment with a beautiful view of the Brandywine River in West Chester, PA. Located on the site of the former Lenape Inn, this unique addition to the Delaware Valley restaurant scene was inspired by its successful sister facility in Quechee, Vermont. Visitors not only have the opportunity to enjoy superb American cuisine with Irish accents, they can browse for original glass and pottery in the retail store. Simon Pearce has maintained a dedication to creating products that are beautifully designed, produced with premium quality materials and time-honored techniques and intended for a lifetime of everyday use. The line is available at 12 Simon Pearce retail stores, through a nationwide network of signature stores, via mail-order catalogue and online at SimonPearce.com
Anyone interested in planning or participating in an MDA Lock-Up, or to nominate someone to participate, please contact the Delaware Valley MDA office at 610.325.5758.

Photos from Morgandale
The kind folks at Morgandale and their president Tim Cooney sent me some photos of me working at their event. I've been fairly busy lately doing several 1st Birthday Parties and have a fair a weekend coming up. I'm starting a new class with Stephen Silver which I hope will push my art even further forward.

Sometimes I prefer drawing the other students, rather than the model.
